Dr. Phillips is one of my favorite communities in Southwest Orlando… mostly because it is where I call home.
It is an established community with a diversity of homes in all price ranges. Although not as secluded as some communities like Avalon Park, Dr. Phillips has everything you need just minutes away. You have access to the interstate for making a day trip to the east or west coast or a jaunt downtown Orlando to enjoy its many amenities.
Dr. Phillips is within minutes of all of the theme parks including: Disney World, Epcot Center, Animal Kingdom, Sea World, Aquatica, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. It is the home of several stellar golf courses including Bay Hill, home of the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Restaurant Row is home to countless restaurants from casual to fine dining. And Restaurant Row, as well as International Drive (we locals call it I-Drive), has plenty of nightlife and entertainment for the adults and the kids alike. You’ve got shopping, dining, dinner shows, spas and other major attractions.
If you’re in the mood for something more low-key, there are numerous parks including Dr. Phillips Community park, which hosts its own dog park , that sits on Big Sand Lake. There are numerous A-rated schools and if you can’t find a church in Dr. Phillips you don’t have your eyes. All of the customary businesses you would expect like gyms, grocery stores, shopping, sports fields and retailers.
Dr. Phillips also hosts several local events like the Taste of Dr. Phillips and other local food truck events.
