Hurricane season is once again upon us…
If you’ve lived in Florida for any amount of time, you’ve become accustomed to hurricane season and maybe you’ve been through a hurricane or two.
If you’re relatively new to Florida, you may be a little concerned about hurricane season. Rest assured you have nothing to worry about as there are steps you can take to get prepared.
The My Safe Florida Program was created to help single-family homeowners protect their homes against hurricanes and save money doing so.
You can get a FREE Home Hurricane Inspection
- Any site-built, single-family, detached residential Florida property may apply.
- The inspection costs you nothing and there is no obligation.
- You’ll receive an inspection report detailing the strength of your home with recommend improvements.
Hurricane Home Improvements Can Include
- Upgrade roof coverings.
- Improve strength of roof deck attachments.
- Reinforce roof-to-wall connections.
- Install secondary water barrier to roof.
- Exterior door upgrades.
- Garage door upgrades.
- Window upgrades.
As a result of the inspection, you’ll receive purchase savings and in turn potential savings on your homeowners’ insurance.
You may be eligible to apply for $2 in state grant money for every $1 you spend on qualifying home strength improvements (up to $10,000 and home must be located in designated wind-borne regions).
No state sales tax (6%) on retail purchases of impact-resistant doors, impact-resistant garage doors and impact-resistant windows from July 1st, 2022 through June 30th, 2024.
