Hometown Heroes, a program provided by Florida Housing, that was initially reserved for teachers, nurses, police officers, fire fighters, veterans and active-duty military will be made available to all Florida residents starting July 1^st 2023!

The Hometown Heroes program was such a success that it has received $100 million in additional funding.  If you qualify you can receive:

Down payment and closing cost assistance.

Lower than current market interest rates.

Loans can be FHA, VA, RD or Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Assistance up to 5% of the loan amount with a maximum of $35,000.

Reduced upfront fees, no origination points or discount points.

In the form of a 0%, non-amortizing, 30-year deferred second mortgage.

In order to qualify you need only meet the following criteria:

Be a first-time homebuyer.

Earn less than 150% of the area median income.

Full-time employee working a minimum of 32 hours for a Florida based company or a company with a location in Florida.

Minimum credit score of 640.
